REDSCOPE is co-organising this panel conversation in partnership with the President of the Law Society for England and Wales, Christina Blacklaws, and the Managing Partner of the law firm NautaDutilh, Dirk van Gerven.
The interactive conversation will focus on the type of Leadership necessary for the 21st century Law firms, and how men and women in the profession can co-create the workplace culture’s transformation that needs to happen for their companies to survive and thrive in today’s inter-connected and volatile world.
The three speakers are champions of inclusion and gender balance, in the UK, Brussels and globally, and will share their best practices, tools and tips.

President of the Law Society of England and Wales and the fifth woman to hold this office.
Her agenda includes Gender equality, disruptive technology and wellbeing in the law profession. A polished media performer, she is well-known for fronting the equality campaign Women in Leadership in law. Among her many achievements, two toolkits to transform the law sector: Women in leadership in Lay & Male Champions for Change. Both toolkits will be available at the event.
Christina studied Jurisprudence at Oxford and qualified as a solicitor in 1991. She has developed and managed law firms, including a virtual law firm. In 2011 she set up the Co-operative Legal Services family law offering, later becoming their director of policy; and more recently she was the director of innovation at top 100 firm Cripps LLP.
Christina holds a range of public appointments, including member of the Family Justice Council, trustee of LawWorks and council member for the Women Lawyers Division.
She is an award-winning published author, speaker and lecturer and frequent media commentator.
Dirk Van Gerven, Managing partner of NautaDutilh
Partner and Managing Partner of the Brussels office of NautaDutilh, an international firm operational in the Benelux.
Dirk has served as president or a board member of many associations and institutions. He currently presides over the supervisory board of the Financial Services and Markets Authority and acts as vice president of the Belgian mediation and arbitration institute. He is a past president of the Brussels Bar.
He publishes frequently on selected topics in the fields of corporate and financial law, is the author of several treatises, and wrote a book on gender equality in professional life (“Alle mensen zijn gelijk, ook vrouwen”). He is the editor of several books and a regular keynote speaker in international events.
Dirk is an outspoken advocate for the equal treatment of men and women throughout their professional careers.
