Courageous followership is just as much a necessity as courageous leadership in order to be strong both individually and as a community. Seasoned leadership and followership educators or researchers who have been trained in Ira Chaleff’s Courageous Followership techniques are dedicated to helping improve local and global outcomes by holding seminars, workshops, and training on the Courageous Followership & Leadership Model.
In a nutshell, the courageous Followership Model offers a new vision and interpretation of the follower role which implies providing dynamic support for leaders but also supports constructive conversation. The Courageous Leadership Model in turn entails creating the conditions in which it is easier for followers to speak the truth as they see it and for leaders to give appropriate consideration to what they are being told. The combined model, therefore, offers a developmental path to a true partnership between leaders and followers in the service of the greater mission.
As a member of the International Leadership Association’s (ILA) Followership Member Community, Claudia de Castro Caldeirinha led the webinar on the 18th of August on teaching and spreading the awareness regarding the Courageous Leadership & Followership Model to others. Claudia shared her experience of bringing Courageous Followership and Leadership to the EU institutions and leaders as well as focused on good practices, and lessons learned.
